  1. A week ago, some plant equipment on a building site in Frodsham was broken into over the weekend and property that had been stored inside was stolen. By their nature, all building sites are vulnerable to thieves, as it is not always possible to remove all valuable equipment every night, or to make it totally secure. If you have a building site near you, or you regularly have cause to pass one out of normal working hours, please keep an eye on it and report any suspicious activity to the police.
  2. On Tuesday, police took reports from a number of landowners in the Balderton area about field gates being left open, horses being let out onto the roads and stables being entered and tack rooms being rummaged through. Police would like to identify whoever was responsible – If you saw anyone or have any knowledge about this, please contact the police.
  3. A number of residential garages were broken into on Wednesday night in Cuddington. Please phone 101 if you have any information which may assist the police in their investigations.
  4. A stable in the Mollington area was broken into on Saturday night and a quantity of stored kitchen equipment was stolen. Meanwhile on the same night, an outbuilding in Crowton was broken into and two quadbikes were stolen. This weeks reported crimes clearly illustrate the vulnerability of rural outbuildings, which are often not overlooked. Please make sure that you utilise strong locks fitted with rounded off bolts rather than screws, so that they cannot be prised out and also fit a ‘shed alarm’ which is battery operated and costs very little.
  5. Also on Saturday night, a new red Honda MSX motorbike was stolen off the driveway of an address in Tarporley. Please always secure your motorbike with a disc lock and also a strong chain fitted round an immovable object.
  6. The hot weather last week and also forecast for the coming days may tempt some people to enjoy an extra alcoholic drink. The hot weather will dehydrate you more than normal and will also suppress appetites – this all combines towards the alcohol having a far greater effect than normal – please be aware and drink responsibly – and leave the car at home!
