Kingsley Village

Councillor Fiona Crane – Councillor Profile

Fiona Crane

I moved to Kingsley with my, then, young family, in 2000. We were made to feel very welcome and soon felt an integral part of the village. When I retired from my main career as a solicitor in local government I was able to become more involved. This has been very rewarding and I have got to know many more people. I am involved in the WI and sing in the Weaver Valley WI Choir. My girls and I have been involved, to a greater or lesser extent, with the Kingsley Players

To keep me out of mischief in my retirement, I sit part time on Employment Tribunals and am a Magistrate, in the adult criminal court and in the Family Court. I am also company secretary for two charities.

This is my second term of office on Kingsley Parish Council. It was by being involved in the production of the Parish Plan that first encouraged me to stand for the Parish Council. During the last few years I have been involved in the organisation of the carnival and when the Parish Council was approached by the Charity Commission I led the work involved in setting up the new Management Committee for the Village Institute. My strengths include ensuring good governance and organisation, which of course arise from my professional background.

The quality of life for all in Kingsley, young and old, is my main concern.
