Kingsley Village
in the heart of Cheshire

Councillor David (Dave) Crossley – Councillor Profile

David Crossley

David Crossley

I was born in Preston, Lancashire, brought up in Chester and moved to Warrington when I married Marian in 1981. We lived in Warrington until late November 2012 when we moved to Kingsley.

I am 63 years of age and I have recently retired though I am still doing advisory work on a part time basis. I have spent  nearly 46 years in the construction industry working on projects throughout the UK. I set up my own Consultancy Practice over 20 years ago and was a Chartered Engineer and Chartered member of several  relevant Institutions up to my retirement.

Since moving to Kingsley nearly three years ago, we have sought to become involved with most aspects of village life and to input what we can to the community.  I have become involved with the Kingsley Players as Stage Crew helping with set builds and stage crew during productions. I am also a committee member of the Kingsley Gardening Club and with my wife have arranged this year's programme of talks.

In 2013, I became a Home Watch co-ordinator for the Hunters Hill area of Kingsley and I liaise with our community PCSO.

I would like to do what I can to preserve the village and village life and the real sense of community that prevails and I believe that by getting involved where I can, is the only way I can seek to affect any influence, no matter how minor it may be on how the village moves forward.

I believe that by being a member of the Parish Council, I can have a say in the decisions that are made that may affect the ethos of Kingsley Village life.

I believe that the village cannot stay in a time warp and must move with the times into the 21st Century, but it is important that if and when changes take place they must be done in a considered manner and without affecting the overall ethos of the village and sense of community.

What can I offer ?  -   I can offer the greatest possessions I have - my time, my enthusiasm and my commitment to the people of Kingsley in trying to represent them and their wishes in ensuring the ethos of this wonderful village is maintained while being open to consider how the village may move forward.
