Kingsley Village

Councillor David Molyneux –  Councillor Profile

David Molyneux

David Molyneux

Our family have been residents of Kingsley since 1978 though our children have now moved on.

I was on the Parish Council in the 1980's for a period of 4 years until work pressures and travel prevented me from contributing to the Community until quite recently recently.

I was the lead author of the Kingsley Parish Plan and having semi-retired I am now able to commit more time to the Kingsley Community as my wife, Anita, is also active in several village groups.

Professionally, I have been in academic life over 40 years teaching both under and postgraduates and undertaking research. I was Dean of Science at Salford University and then Director of The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. I continue to be involved in international infectious disease control programmes working with the World Health Organisation, the UK Department for International Development, Sightsavers and GlaxoSmithKline to eliminate particularly nasty diseases such as river blindness and elephantiasis.
