Kingsley Village
in the heart of Cheshire

In 1976, while thinking of ways of raising the money to build a Community Centre, the idea of putting on a fund raising show came about.

So a cabaret, Kingsley style, sort of medieval, home grown and devised with the help of an odd professional (to help give a bit of class) was written as the first show.

It was such a success that more shows followed, the money was raised and the Community Centre was built.

Plus, an amateur dramatic society was born!

The first meeting of the group was in December 1976, the name was chosen and a draft constitution agreed. It was decided that two plays and a pantomime would be performed each year.

The first performance by the group was in April 1977 when two one-act plays were performed. History of the drama group has even been written about by John Birtles.
