Chester Rural End of Month Update

November 2015

Welcome to the November edition of the Chester Rural Police update. 
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. At this time of year, acquisitive crime (including theft and burglary) tends to increase. Please ensure that you are extra vigilant, doors and windows are locked and your properties are well-lit when you go out in the evening time. These simple preventative methods can reduce the chances of your homes being targeted.
As always, I am trying to communicate with as many of our rural residents as possible with these updates and I am looking to increase our subscribers to Cheshire Alert, so please highlight the advantages of signing up to friends/relatives in the area. Also, (as I know many of you already do) please circulate the updates to those who don’t have computer/e-mail access.

Elton Ward
Overnight between 02/11/15 and 03/11/15 a storage container was broken in to on Poole Lane, Ince. A number of tools were stolen.
There have also been reports of a suspicious male wearing a hi-visibility jacket in the area of Whitefields, Elton. Please be vigilant at this time of year and report any suspicious activity
PCSO Connolly continues to work closely with the Community Speed Watch team. He has deployed the speed indication device in hot spot areas and has arranged to have new 30mph signs erected in Ash Road. We continue to take speeding seriously and repeat offenders will be dealt with abruptly by our Roads Policing Unit.

Chester Villages Ward
Over the past month, we have seen an increase in overnight theft from motor vehicle offences in the Mickle Trafford area. Offender(s) are targeting insecure vehicles. Patrols have increased in the local areas. Please ensure you are not the next victim by securing your vehicles and not leaving valuable items on show.
During the daytime of 17/11/15 a burglary occurred at Durban Avenue, Christleton. A vehicle was stolen during this offence.
PCSO Netherton continues to hold regular community surgeries and is aware of regular speeding and parking issues on the A51. She has referred these issues to the Roads Policing Unit and will continue to monitor traffic in the area.

Frodsham Ward
During the daytime of 08/11/15 a burglary occurred on Howley Lane, Frodsham and overnight between 12/11/15 and 13/11/15 a shed burglary occurred on Townfield Lane. Please continue to be vigilant and report any suspicious incidents.
Operation Shield has been introduced in Frodsham in November. Local officers and PCSO’s, working together with CWAC, Frodsham Town Council and Weaver Vale Housing have delivered over 300 property marking kits. Signage has been erected to warn prospective offenders and feedback from local residents has been very positive.

Helsby Ward
We have had a number of reports of out-building and garage burglaries in the Windsor Drive, Chester Road and Sandy Lane areas. Please ensure that your properties are secure and adequate locks and bolts are fitted. Local patrols will increase plain clothed and uniformed patrols in the area.
Overnight between 24/11/15 and 25/11/15 a theft from motor vehicle occurred on Robin Hood Lane.
PCSO Finchett has highlighted increased ASB caused by local youths and vehicles in the Medical Centre Car Park. Those responsible will be dealt with robustly by our ASB Unit.

Kingsley Ward
A burglary occurred on Top Road, Kingsley . Offenders forced the rear door of the property and stole a quantity of jewellery.
PCSO Brandreth is aware of ongoing speeding issues on the A56 in Sutton Weaver. This month he organized a very successful speed awareness day, working together with special constables, local officers and community speedwatch volunteers. This is something we are looking to continue with in the coming months. 

Gowy Ward
Local PCSO Steve Edmonds has highlighted continued speeding in the Mouldsworth, Barrow and Ashton Hayes areas. Please respect the speed limits. Roads Policing officers have been briefed and any people responsible will be dealt with robustly.
A business premises was broken in to on Barnhouse Lane. Offenders forced entry and stole a charity box and cash. Please be aware of suspicious persons in your area and report them to Cheshire Police.

Tarvin and Kelsall Ward
Overnight between 14/11/15 and 15/11/15 a garage burglary occurred at Frith Avenue and a motorbike was stolen. This was subsequently recovered in the Ellesmere Port area. Three offenders have now been charged by detectives with conspiracy to commit burglary and have been remanded in custody.
On the afternoon of 27/11/15 an attempted burglary occurred on Chester Road, Kelsall. The offenders were in a van with no registration plates and made off from the scene. Please contact police if there are any sightings of this suspicious vehicle.
PCSO Ryan Reid has identified speeding as an issue in Oscroft, Delamere, Willington and Kelsall. He has taken action using the speed gun and speed indication device in these areas and will continue to do so. Please respect the speed limits.

Farndon Ward
Overnight between 14/11/15 and 15/11/15 a garage burglary occurred on Carden Lane, Carden. The offenders forced entry.
On the evening of 21/11/15 a burglary occurred on Greenway, Farndon. Two male offenders smashed a window and were disturbed and chased towards Holt. 
PCSO Hurst continues to work with Community Speedwatch and deploy the speed indication device in the local villages.

Tattenhall Ward
In the past month there have been 4 outbuilding burglary offences in the Tattenhall Ward. Offences have occurred on Aldersley Lane, Nantwich Road, Tattenhall Road and Bolesworth Road. Offenders have cut the locks and stolen numerous items. Please be vigilant and ensure suitable locks/bolts are used to secure your property.

Malpas Ward
Overnight between 07/11/15 and 08/11/15 an outbuilding burglary occurred on Whitchurch Road. The locks were broken and a quantity of tools stolen.
On the evening of 17/11/15 a burglary occurred at Old Hall Street. Offenders stole a car from the address. Please report any suspicious incidents to Cheshire Police.

Monthly Priorities
The three monthly priorities for Chester Rural in December are:
 

Operation Empirical – Tackling ASB and Violence during the Christmas period

Operation Empirical tackles violent crime and anti-social behaviour across Chester LPU in the run up to Christmas. Local officers and PCSO's will increase patrols in Frodsham town centre on key dates to reassure communities, reduce nuisance behaviour and deal with those responsible robustly.
 

Burglary Offences in Helsby, Tattenhall, Malpas and Farndon

Following an increase in shed and outbuilding burglary offences, rural officers will work with detectives and increase marked and unmarked patrols in an attempt to reduce crime, reassure the public and catch those responsible.

Speeding and Parking Issues on Rural Roads

Speeding and parking issues remain a major priority for our rural communities. We will continue to use preventative and enforceable methods to improve the safety on our roads, deploying local officers and roads policing to problem areas.
