Give Santa a helping hand this Christmas by following his Christmas safety tips. Many of the things we enjoy during this festive period, such as the fairy lights, candles, paper hats and decorations, can all be fire hazards when proper care is not taken.

Don't drink and drive

The annual Christmas Drink Drive crackdown in Cheshire has been launched with a warning to motorists for the festive period.

The key message to drivers is: If you are driving don't drink! If you plan to have a drink this Christmas, please leave your car at home.

Recent Shed Break Ins 08/12/2015

Good afternoon,

Unfortunately in the Helsby area recently, there has been a number of break ins to sheds and out houses in the area of Kings Drive and Mountain View. Residents are being advised to lock any valuable equipment away and keep it out of sight. If you can keep it safe in your house.

If you do see any vehicle or person acting suspiciously in your area please call 101 immediately or 999 in an emergency to report it.

There will be an increase in patrols in the area both in marked and unmarked police vehicles and also on foot patrol.

With it being Christmas time please take extra precaution when coming in and out of your homes. If you need to defrost a car then please do not leave it running whilst you stay in your home. Keep all keys for vehicles out of sight and away from easily accessible points such as windows, doors and letter boxes.

Chester Rural End of Month Update

November 2015

Welcome to the November edition of the Chester Rural Police update. 
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. At this time of year, acquisitive crime (including theft and burglary) tends to increase. Please ensure that you are extra vigilant, doors and windows are locked and your properties are well-lit when you go out in the evening time. These simple preventative methods can reduce the chances of your homes being targeted.
As always, I am trying to communicate with as many of our rural residents as possible with these updates and I am looking to increase our subscribers to Cheshire Alert, so please highlight the advantages of signing up to friends/relatives in the area. Also, (as I know many of you already do) please circulate the updates to those who don’t have computer/e-mail access. 
As well as the regular Cheshire Alert updates, please be aware of further rural information on the Chester Local Policing Unit twitter page (@PoliceChester) and the Cheshire Police website (www.cheshire.police.uk).

Overnight between 02/11/15 and 03/11/15 a storage container was broken in to on Poole Lane, Ince. A number of tools were stolen.
There have also been reports of a suspicious male wearing a hi-visibility jacket in the area of Whitefields, Elton. Please be vigilant at this time of year and report any suspicious activity
PCSO Connolly continues to work closely with the Community Speed Watch team. He has deployed the speed indication device in hot spot areas and has arranged to have new 30mph signs erected in Ash Road. We continue to take speeding seriously and repeat offenders will be dealt with abruptly by our Roads Policing Unit.
